The Open House marked a historic moment as Ford reaffirmed its commitment to Detroit with the acquisition and planned renovation of Michigan Central Station. The public was invited to celebrate and explore the interior of this iconic architectural landmark. This event was especially significant, as it was the first time the station had been open to the public in decades.
At the event, digital stations lining the main hall allowed visitors to explore key moments in history. As they delved into stories and images, words seamlessly floated from the screens onto the grand arches, ultimately converging on a stunning 65-foot barrel-vaulted ceiling.
Custom projection mapping software was developed in Cinder, enabling real-time text to flow from interactive kiosks onto the architecture of the space — transforming the hall into a living document of Detroit's history and Ford's vision for its future.
